Coll Reacts to Another Win in London

“I’m stoked, I was really happy with my length hitting and ball striking.

“I think it’s the best I’ve ever struck it consistently. Victor was putting the backhand drops in really well and he was solid, so I impressed myself with that today.

“Having Nele [wife and World No.11] on tour with me, she’s got her own career to focus on, but she’s given me so much support this week after a tough week for her. It shows her character and having her with me here all week made it so much more enjoyable for me.

“Me having the big fella [Rob Owen, Coll’s coach] here for the final is always good, I’ve had a great team.

“When I was out there I was thinking this is what Ali Farag used to do to me. I was very happy with that consistency today. I was trying to mix my movement and change those paces.

“I’m trying to relax in the mind too, this week my mind was great and I’ve been thinking clearly.”

Three in a Row for Coll

Coll cannot stop winning at Alexandra Palace – it’s his third straight London title and the 34th of his incredible career.

He’s not dropped a game all week and he was in scintillating form to take out Crouin in straight games.

Both of tonight’s winners have sent out a message to the rest of the tour this week.

Coll Doubles His Lead

It’s another relatively straightforward game for Coll who is on the verge of winning this tournament without dropping a single game.

The 34-year-old is dominating proceedings and having everything his own way at the moment – Crouin needs to do something fast if he is to capture his first London Classic title.

Coll Pulls Away

No.1 seed Paul Coll goes a game ahead after a controlled opener from the World No.2

He’s been hitting his target at Alexandra Palace all week and so far it’s been no different in today’s final.

Crouin was able to make some headway towards the end of the game, but the deficit was too big by that point and it’s first blood to the Kiwi.

Reaction from Orfi

“I expected a tough battle from her and I’m really happy to win.

“I played really well today and to win this title again means a lot to me. It’s my first time defending the title and hopefully there’s more to come.

“I’ve been working a lot in the off season on my movement and I think it’s gotten better and better. It’s not something I naturally have, so it’s important to keep working on it and I think this match was the best I’ve played in the tournament.

“I’m excited [for the World No.1 battle]. It’s a long way for both of us [Orfi and El Hammamy] to the final though and we don’t know how the rest of the top eight have trained because we haven’t played with all of them at this tournament. It’s going to be interesting to see what each player brings.

“If I get it done in Qatar, it will be amazing.”

Orfi Takes the Title

Orfi goes back-to-back at the London Classic.

An imperious performance from the 19-year-old, who captures her 14th PSA title and sets up a fascinating battle for World No.1 at the Qatar Classic later this month with current incumbent Hania El Hammamy.

Orfi has one hand on a second successive London Classic trophy now after pulling away to a 2-0 lead over Kennedy.

The ferocious intensity has been too much for Kennedy so far and Orfi is in the driving seat heading into the third game at Alexandra Palace.

Orfi leads against the home favourite here – it was an immaculate first game for the World No.2.

18 minutes in length, it was a high-quality first game with some lengthy rallies played at a high tempo.

Orfi has been onto the volley quickly and has taken attacking opportunities away from her opponent by stepping up the court.
