World No.10 and England No.2 Jonah Bryant has unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the upcoming London Squash Classic due to an ongoing injury problem.
The hot prospect has been sidelined with a shoulder problem that he picked up during a match with Diego Elias at the Optasia Championships in March and hasn’t been able to recover in time for the opening Gold event of the season.
Bryant was the No.4 seed for the event but has surrendered that seeding spot to Egypt’s Aly Abou Eleinen. He will now await the winner of Patrick Rooney and Eain Yow Ng in the second round after receiving an opening round bye.
Former World Champion and World No.1 Mohamed Elshorbagy has now become a No.8 seed and also receives a bye in round one.
England’s Sam Todd replaces ElShorbagy and plays Moustafa Elsirty in the opening round, whilst the incoming Karim El Hammamy will play Declan James on the first day of action.
