Day Two: Preview & How To Watch Live

The second round of the GillenMarkets London Squash Classic gets underway today, with eight matches to come from the stunning all-glass court at Alexandra Palace, London.

Play will get underway from the PSA World Tour Gold event at 13:00 (GMT) and will be available to watch live on SQUASHTV. The evening session will also be available to watch for free on the PSA World Tour Facebook page and the SQUASHTV YouTube page.

Seven home players will be looking to book their spots in the quarter-finals of the London Classic on Day 2, with Jasmine Hutton starting the day’s play against No.4 seed Nele Gilis. Elsewhere in the women’s draw, No.5 seed Georgina Kennedy will engage in an all-England affair with Lucy Turmel, while Katie Malliff – who defeated compatriot Grace Gear in Round 1 – takes on No.7 seed Sivasangari Subramaniam.

After the withdrawal of his older brother Mohamed due to injury, Marwan ElShorbagy is seeded as England’s best hope of silverware in the men’s draw and will look to get his campaign off to a winning start against Germany’s Raphael Kandra. Meanwhile, Adrian Waller and No.4 seed Joel Makin will go toe-to-toe the final match of the afternoon session. The last home player to take to the court on Day 2 will be George Parker, who will be full of confidence after knocking out Frenchman Auguste Dussourd yesterday, and look to go one better when facing Spain’s Iker Pajares in the last match of the day.

The top seeds from both draws will also get their accounts underway in Alexandra Palace, with New Zealand’s Paul Coll, who captured the Canary Wharf Classic crown last year, facing Fares Dessouky’s conqueror, USA’s Timothy Brownell. Nour El Sherbini, meanwhile, will take on Tesni Murphy of Wales. The World No.25 looked in fine form when defeating Emilia Soini in the first round and will feel hope to catch the World No.1 cold and use the best-of-three format to her advantage.
